How long should I spend viewing a property?

When you’re house hunting, it can be easy to get carried away and spend too long viewing a property. But how long should you spend viewing one?

It’s important to remember that viewing a property is only the start of the process. You’ll still need to make an offer, get it accepted, then wait for the legal process to take place. So, viewing a property is only the first step!

When you’re viewing a property, allow yourself enough time to get a good understanding of the property. Walk around each room and look at the features and condition, and take some notes as you go. Consider what you like and dislike, and decide whether the property meets your requirements.

When you’ve done a thorough walk-through, you can then spend some time looking at the local area. If you’re viewing with an estate agent, they can provide you with some useful information about the location.

Overall, the time you spend viewing a property should be around 30 minutes to an hour. This should give you enough time to get a good understanding of the property and its surroundings.
